Another activity done

The ward party is finally over! I always love when it is done and I don't have the worry that accompanies each activity. This year Kaylee really wanted to be Peter Pan. I made her outfit for less than $5. We already had tinkerbell for daisy and luckily heidi had a blue dress to use as wendy. I tried to talk ben into getting a top hat and pajama shirt for john but he wouldn't.

Even though the decoration were not the greatest they were still a step up from last year. I didn't even decorate last year. We had games first, then the trunk or treat, then dinner with the costume parade for entertainment. The parade ended up being more of a costume dance party because the kids would walk up and just start dancing instead of exiting of the stage.
We had caramel apples again. We also had pumpkin bowling, the haunted house, coloring and the cake walk.
Here is a picture of the cake walk prize. I had to package the prize so that parents could have them wait until after dinner to eat it and i didn't want cake all over the floor. I bought A TON of candy and put them in bags. I was pretty excited because this looks like a kids dream come true and each bag ended up having an entire bag of candy within. Not the little bag either but the big bags that you buy and put in a candy dish to share. It was fun providing that much candy to little kids. Daisy loved her bag of peanut butter M&Ms even though I have been eating them all.
Here are a pictures of the girls before it all started. That was the only time I had for them because once we started they were on their own. Ben had to man the haunted house and I was running around everywhere. We had such a big turn out that we had to pull out 5 more tables for people to sit at for dinner. Lucky for me you can give Daisy an apple and she will be busy for the next hour. She just walk around in the kitchen eating her apple totally content.

I had an hour between heidi's school ending and the party so we got ready at the church.

heidi's favorite part was her wendy slippers that I made with felt and her flip flops.
kaylee has been trying so hard to be a good, obedient girl and you can tell because she is smiling in all her pictures now. She has been very good this week.

Carving Pumpkins

We almost forgot about carving pumpkins this year but luckily we remembered in time for family home evening. The girls always love doing the activity but don't want to do any of the work. Ben pulls out the guts and I do the carving.

Heidi thought it was disgusting but she actually tried to spoon some out which is a huge improvement from last year.
And then Daisy was just excited to stand on the chair. She got her hands in a little bit there at the end.


When I told the girls to sit down for the picture Daisy just plunked down in the middle and the girls couldn't quit laughing about it.
And kaylee is really into taking pictures if she can make a funny face.
Kaylee's is supposed to be a witch but Daisy ripped the face off today. Daisy's is a daisy (I was tired of carving by that point and just wanted to do something easy) And Heidi wanted a silly face.

Fun Friday

Friday is always Fun Friday at Heidi's school and so we also call it Fun Friday at home. That means tonight the girls get to sleep together. Since Ben will be at a Halo night the girls get to sleep out on the floor and watch a movie with me. They are always excited when Ben goes out for the night.

I tried to get a cute picture with the girls in their matching outfits (thanks, Becca!) The funniest is to see Kaylee. She looks miserable in the first one. Then I bribed her with a sucker if she smiled. She did but kept her hands in front of her face.

Still not smiling for me. (Why does this go underlined at times? I can never get rid of the line!)

Then I suggested funny faces and surprisingly she tried.
One more time with Daisy's eyes open. It is Fun Friday!!

My Mom is making post these pictures. (She bribed me with a present for the baby...it better be good!) I don't actually like posting anything about my pregnancy on my blog. I didn't with daisy and I LOVED IT!! So enjoy this because there will most likely not be another one. Anyway, I am 18 weeks along.
And we are having a boy. We have NO names figured out but I am working on it. I sent this picture to my mom to guess what it was and she couldn't figure out that the last picture was of his legs. She thought it was a profile picture. There is even an arrow pointing at his stuff.

And I went out yesterday to get a few things. We are really excited and I just want to blow my money and having everything decked out for this little guy. However, I restrained myself and didn't buy a crib with a matching bed set. Just some onesies, receiving blankets and a cute giraffe that I couldn't resist. I have to be honest though, girl stuff is just a lot cuter. We are not farmers, construction workers, animal people, or even dog lovers so none of the outfits really appealed to me. Even sports aren't a huge thing for me to want to dress him in. But, oh well. I will just have to get used to the difference in clothing. I told Ben there weren't many 'cute' outfits and he told me it was a boy and I wasn't supposed to try and dress him 'cute' like I do the girls. Anyway, this will be the last you see for the next 22 weeks until our little monster comes. Maybe by then I will have caved and created an entire nursery for him. We'll see.

This is a long video for those who don't care but I thought Joe would like it since she is already working on her reading. Heidi is reading at a first-second grade level. Kaylee is reading out of the books Heidi brings home (which was a surprise to me so I figured I should start working on her reading since she is doing it on her own) And Daisy loves to grab books and sit and look at them as well.

The Vision Walk 2009

Ben's school participated in the vision walk that happens nationwide. It is a two mile walk and the proceeds go towards research for degenerative eye something something...I don't really pay attention when they start talking in eye language. But we got free t-shirts and got to be out in the cold an hour before it started.

We played at the park before we walked. It was really cold in the shade.
Ben spent most of the time pushing Kaylee and Daisy on the swings while I stood in line for the face painting.

The girls all got their faces painted.
Heidi got a butterfly, Kaylee a ladybug, and Daisy got a daisy.
After we finished the walk. Ben ended up carrying Kaylee for the whole two miles because she was being her normal grouchy self. Daisy lost her shoe at some point along the way and luckily it was turned in. We heard them announcing the found shoe as we arrived. We have a cute family!
Ben and I looked cute in our matching shirts. He's a cute husband.

Heidi's picture

We got Heidi's school pictures back. We aren't buying them but she just looks so old them that it makes me a little sad. I just wanted my mom to see them. She is so pretty.

PS to my family-I have been adding posts to my private blog but I have no clue if anyone even looks at it. (It is strictly for family so don't be offended that you aren't invited) The only person I know who does check it is my mom but there are more things up to see.

Daisy and the computer

With conference this weekend and having to check up on some shows I missed we have had our computer sitting on the floor a lot lately. Daisy loved it even though she is not allowed to touch anything. She would sort of walk over, eyeball it, turn to see if we were watching, take another step over, stare some more, slowly sit down nearby, and then slowly she would lower herself down and grab the mouse. It was cute to watch. It was like watching my dad eyeball a rotisserie chicken but Daisy is a lot cuter.

Of course she would open every application there and I would have to go through closing every window. Macs really are simple to use. Even Daisy figured it out.
She did finally get into trouble when I came out to find the computer falling on top of her. Then she lost her computer privileges.
