I think my last post came across wrong. I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining, just that I had a crazy day-crazy enough to write about it. It wasn't bad and I would hate for anyone (especially Rachel) to think that I was unhappy. Truth be told I actually like days where I am challenged. I like to think of myself as a strong, independent, capable person. And if there is a chance to stretch myself in that way then I rise to the challenge! I could have called someone to watch the Hubbards but I knew I could handle it. I could have assigned out more jobs but I chose to take them on (I will change that next time-that was foolish of me). The only parts made it harder was me being sick the night before and getting pulled over. But really, I am the type of person that if someone says I can't do it then I will DO IT!!! So, my day wasn't horrible, just crazy. And I liked it. Now I feel empowered because I survived! It was stressful but we made it. We even laughed along the way (Jeffrey cracks me up!)
(A few more thoughts about that day...)
I feel like I have a very blessed life. I have not been required to sacrifice much for the Lord. I have not had to walk across the country, darn stockings, grind wheat, bury a child, leave behind family possessions, cut off a frost bitten toe, or anything close to that. I haven't even had many modern day sacrifices like losing a child, battling cancer, anxiously waiting years for to have children, having children with behavioral problems, struggling through a bad marriage, miscarrying a baby, being abused physically/sexually/emotionally, etc. I have had a blessed life. I also feel that there is not much service that I am able to give through out the day. But I am able to babysit (and I don't even have to leave the comfort of my own home for that service.) So, if Heavenly Father wants to make me work for my blessings by throwing in a sick day and a speeding ticket then I will take it! One stressful day is very little to ask and I am willing to go through it. And even though Heidi was crying in a corner I think she secretly likes the "damsel in distress" role. She has a dramatic side to her. She probably thought that a prince would find her, carry her off on his horse into the sunset and they would live happily ever after. Ever since watching Enchanted she has been climbing trees hoping to fall into a prince's arms.
OK, I'm done talking.
Happy Halloween!!
