Loads of Pictures

Hold on to your hats because here are a lot of pictures! We came home from the hospital today and Daisy and I are both doing well. She just sleeps all day and I get a chance to rest, too. Anyway, here are the pictures. There are a lot and you may not want to see them all but I am making this post for Peggy and other family members who do want to see every minute that they can.
Heidi, Scotty and Daisy

Aunt Becca with Daisy
Benji and Daisy.

My favorite part of this picture is Heidi. But there we are...Ben's girls. He once said he would like ot have all girls and it looks like he may get that after all.
Love this picture. Before Daisy came Kaylee was objecting to her. But once she saw Daisy it all changed. She loves baby Daisy and whenever Daisy cries Kaylee believe that it is because Daisy wants Kaylee.
Heidi is just as excited about Daisy as Kaylee is. We don't know what we are going to do because all they want to do is hold her. And if I am feeding her then Heidi is sitting right next to me playing Big Toe, Little Toe.
The proud Papa.

I know she looks really peaceful here, but the next picture will show you what we dealt with the first night.
We didn't get much sleep because she was always wanting to he snuggled. My mom and I were beat the next day.

This was the night Ben stayed at the hospital with me. I loved having him there. It is just cute and endearing to see how much your spouse loves you because of what they are willing to help you with. He is the best.

Here is Daisy with her eyes open. They are a dark blue-just like Kaylee's. But the grouchy face is what I like the most. She always looks mad.

Here is her hair. From the back she looks like a Mexican baby because her hair is black. Not just dark brown but black and shiny. It doesn't look that thick here but it is in real life.
Us getting ready to go home.
I tried to get a picture of the dress she was wearing. I let Heidi pick out the dress that Daisy would come home in. She picked a little green and white gingham dress with daisies on it.
She is all ready to go. She is so small in her car seat.

Baby Daisy

Here is a picture of baby Daisy. She was 6 pounds 12 ounces and 20 inches long. I don't get this blogging stuff so this is all you get to see for now. Shauna will post more later.

The LAST Mile

I did it!! I completed my 100 miles goal! Ben woke me up at 5:00 this morning so that I could go out and finish the very last mile. I got dressed and was really excited. This is me as I am about to head out the door. (This is also me with no make-up so don't look too closely at the picture!)At 25 weeks I ran a mile for time and did a 9 min mile. At 30 weeks I tried again and came in at 8:40. This morning I ran for time again and was able, at 39 weeks, to shave off a little more time and I ran an 8:30 mile! I was excited. I was also pooped out and went back to bed. I would like to take some time to tell Benji thanks for being such a good husband. I come up with a lot of crazy ideas (like not telling people I was pregnant, running 100 miles, etc) and he just lets me do it. He helps me with it, he supports me on it, and he even wakes up early on his day off so I can run and he watch the girls. He is just the best husband. I would also like to thank all those who did this goal with me and those who encouraged me in it. That support made me keep going. And I would like to thank Linkin Park, Buck Cherry, Finger Eleven and, most importantly, Collective Soul for keeping me running at a fast pace. Whenever I need to go just a little bit further and didn't think I could I always had my music to make me go faster.
Not only was today the last mile but it is also the last day of being pregnant! The last day of sleeping on the couch. The last time I will have to check my weight on the scale by looking to the side of my stomach. The last I will have to hold my breath while I tie my shoes. The last time that, when I drop food while eating, it will land on my stomach instead of the napkin on my lap. The last time I will bump into something because I forget that I am huge. The last time I will have to wear maternity clothes. Well...that is until we get pregnant again. And don't worry, we will tell you when that happens again. Have a great Friday and a great weekend!

Change of Plans

I had my doctor appointment today and we scheduled the c-section for this saturday, june 21st. While I am sad the baby won't be born on Sam's birthday I am excited to say that the 21st is Ben's brother's birthday! (Harrison's birthday) So she will still have the same birthday as one of her uncles. Fun. So, unless I can start my labor...which will never happen...then we are set to go!

Things I learned this time around

My mom calls everyday now to see if the baby is coming. And everyday I tell her, in a somewhat exasperated tone "It's not coming I feel fine." Today she told that she missed out on eight months of asking how I was feeling so she was going to ask anyway to make up for it. I thought that made complete sense and decided I would also post this to give a small glimpse into my past eight months. This pregnancy was normal in many ways-nothing wrong with the baby, I am not too big, she kicked and moved at the right time, etc. But there were some difference that I thought I could share.

1. The most important thing was that I exercised. It has been the best part of my pregnancy. I get up, go running (sometimes walking) and I just felt great! Not only that but it has helped me to not gain any unnecessary weight-thus making the whole pregnancy go smoother. I have 17 days until Baby Daisy and I have 8 miles left to go. Having a goal to complete 100 miles was a good idea because it made me have to get out even when I didn't want to. That was one reason I was glad my mom didn't know. If she knew I was running every day I would get a lecture about it every day. But that has been my favorite part of the pregnancy.

2. I have never thrown up in a pregnancy before but this time I threw up 3 times. And every time it came on quick and was over as soon as I threw up. I know some people don't like to throw up but the sooner you do the sooner you can get on with your day. Heidi and Kaylee thought the whole thing was interesting and would sit and watch-gross.

3. Chinese food is not good for me while I am pregnant. I would eat Chinese food and then be huge for about four days! I don't know why but it was a really uncomfortable time when I was bloated and stuffed to the max with Chinese food. I love Chinese food but, being pregnant in Rexburg, I never ate it (there is not a single good chinese place in Rexburg-Fongs is about the grossest chinese food I have ever had). But, we found a good Chinese joint out here and that was what we ordered when we would eat out...it never sat well. I can't mix Chinese and pregnancy.

4. I have slept on the couch for almost the entire nine months. For some reason my back hurts in this one spot at night. But, if I sleep on the couch it doesn't hurt. So each night I would go to bed with Ben, wake around 2 or 3, go pee, and then head to the couch. I will be glad when the baby is here so I can just sleep in bed all night.

5. This time around I didn't wear maternity shirts. Instead I bought some shirts from Downeast Outfitters. They are the long modest shirts and they have been wonderful. I don't feel like I am wearing a gigantic big shirt that is frumpy. Instead I look sort of cute. I would suggest that to others. They are much more flattering.

That is all I can think of right now. It has been a fun pregnancy but I will be glad when it is over. I keep wanting my labor to start so I can be done but then it wouldn't be born on Sammy's birthday. I think my doctor thinks I'm crazy for going over-I have been called an odd duck because of that-but I just think if it has to be done on a Tuesday why not make it a special day? We'll see if I make it!
